Week six of the 2025 NFL season

It's week six of the NFL season and after last week's talk regarding the Buffalo Bills and Philadelphia Eagles as possible championship contenders, they both lost their unbeaten records.
Notable during those contests were the amount of penalties both committed. The Eagles committed them in key moments meaning they essentially beat themselves having led 17-3 entering the final quarter versus the Denver Broncos, who play in London this weekend.
However it proved good to observe how Denver quarterback Bo Nix managed to have the shortfall and then lead three scoring drives on three possessions in the fourth quarter, to win the victory by four points.
The Broncos boast the top defender with CB Pat Surtain II. They rank first in red zone defence, whereas Philadelphia lead the league in scoring near the end zone, and the Broncos prevailed in that contest.
They executed the Eagles' number regarding simulated pressure. They did not always sending extra defenders instead they could position two linebackers in the 'A' gap before withdrawing them and send a slot defender from the outside.
Early on in the campaign, it was noted during a show how the Broncos could be the current year's dark horses. They ended the previous year well then excelled in continuing that momentum.
Are the Denver Broncos this year's underdog story?
Recently acquired tight end their tight end has excelled significantly while new running back their rusher is a player the team trusts. He now ranks fifth league-wide in ground gains (over 400) as well as tied for fourth for rushing touchdowns (four).
It's impressive that the coach the Broncos' leader displays "RUN IT!" prominently on his call sheet.
That shows how Denver are a squad aiming to prioritize the run, because one can achieve much off the back of that. It slows opposing rushes while keeps you in favourable down and distances.
It's also helped QB Bo Nix, who entered the NFL as the 12th overall draft pick in the prior draft, passing for 29 TDs – second only to a star QB in rookie records (31 back in 2020).
Josh Allen and Herbert possess powerful arms to throw anywhere, but they don't move the mobility that Nix has. He boasts incredible arm talent, which is different, and he is so athletic.
His assets are his mobility, the capacity to pass on the run, and finding varied release points to deliver the pass as he moves outside protection, on rollouts. He can deliver precision throws across the middle and past defenders.
As a rookie QB, at 25, he's got a lot of poise in the pocket and is not bothered by the blitz. He tries to avoid a sack as much as possible and can throw under pressure. He has sharp intelligence and remains quick to decide.
If you consistently run the ball it consumes time and forces the defence to be on the field extended periods, and when you've got a mobile QB the defense has to defend the field downfield and horizontally. It can be draining.
Nix has bitten back with the coach on the sideline sometimes and it seems the coach appreciates that fire, seeing him as such a competitor. In my view it's exciting for him to coach a young quarterback that is similar to moldable clay. He can really build something up how he wants to build it. I believe it's a unique opportunity for the coach.
The head coach owns a Super Bowl and has passed Bill Parcells in all-time victories (173, tying for 14th). He's seen everything. In my opinion the achievements the Broncos are having on offence is largely due to his leadership, his play-calling, his game sense – and the pairing with the QB helps make him what he is.
You wouldn't want a better guy guiding you, to help you through some of the tougher situations and boost self-belief.
I believe in the Broncos' defense, in the QB's grit and calm. But is the team strong enough to go against a top squad at its best? Because that was not a Super Bowl performance from Philadelphia last Sunday.
Right now, it's unlikely the Broncos are incredible. They're working better than most, which is a solid position to hold their division. The key to do is maintain this path.
They're really good at leaning into their strength, which is the ground game, and that's exactly what they must do against the New York Jets in London. It's going to be a Dobbins-focused game, essentially.
New York have surrendered 140 rushing yards per game (sixth worst), five ground scores this season (10th worst), and they're the only team yet to win any game.
Ever since the NFL began tracking turnovers decades ago, this team are also the first team to be without a single takeaway through five games, this is kind of shocking considering that the head coach Aaron Glenn defensive co-ordinator with another team.
The Chiefs' QB stated Kansas City are off to a poor start following a recent loss to Jacksonville.
After the upcoming matchup, Denver have a manageable slate up to their break (in week 12) - the New York Giants, the Cowboys, Houston Texans plus the Raiders prior to the Kansas City Chiefs.
In their division, the Chiefs hold a losing record and the Broncos are even with the Chargers on 3-2 so they could make a run for the top of the West.
This hinges on which form Kansas City shows up they meet since the Broncos {beat|def
