Iranian forces say they have struck a US naval base in Manama, as Iran launched operations across the region in retaliation for a significant and ongoing assault targeting the nation by the US and Israel.

Airspace Engagements

In other parts of the Middle East, the United Arab Emirates, Qatar and Kuwait - each hosting American military installations - said they have intercepted incoming projectiles in their airspace.

In the Qatari capital, Qatar's defence ministry announced it had intercepted several missiles apparently targeting the al-Udeid air base, the largest American base in the region.

Iran's Declared Retaliation

Iran's Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) declared it was striking American facilities and interests as part of operation "Truthful Promise 4", in reprisal for the strikes on the Islamic Republic initiated by the United States and its ally Israel on Saturday.

That US-Israeli operation - executed at around 06:15 GMT - has so far focused on areas associated with the the regime, with President Trump encouraging the Iranian people to revolt against the regime.

Additional Developments

In Israel, sirens were heard across the country after the Israeli military stated it had identified an incoming Iranian missile barrage.

The Ministry of Defence of the United Arab Emirates announced that the nation has been targeted by a "a blatant attack involving Iranian ballistic missiles".

"UAE air defence systems engaged the projectiles with notable success and shot down a number of missiles," it added.

The statement noted debris landed in a populated district in the capital, resulting in some structural damage and killing a civilian.

The US Air Force is stationed at Al Dhafra Air Base, south of Abu Dhabi, along with the Emirati Air Force.
