The goalkeeper Had little to do to perform during the opening 45 but then forced to intervene from an opponent's curling effort. One well-timed sliding tackle on an Albanian attacker showed excellent game intelligence. 6/10

The debutant Tested against the opposition's biggest threat through their forward. Operated more centrally initially but moved out wide after a teammate was introduced. 7

The defender Advanced into midfield when in possession, as he has done before. At times was too casual on the ball with the approach discontinued by the interval. Six

Dan Burn A constant threat on corners and free-kicks, typically, but may be another option for Stones in the backline instead of his partner. One wayward ball in the second half almost led to a goal for the visitors. Six

The young full-back One more assured display from the youngster after his first cap against Serbia. A teammate failed to make full advantage of a gorgeous backheel behind the Albania defence. His position is firmly his already. Seven

Adam Wharton His maiden beginning for his country. A bit careless when playing out but his dangerous set-pieces posed a danger. An effective game manager for the coach to call upon against sides that sit back. Shown a yellow for a rash challenge. 6

The midfielder Crosses from dead balls and set-plays were dangerous. Enjoyed license to move in left midfield only to be offside when the ball arrived in front of goal. Granted a deserved rest on the hour mark. Six

Jude Bellingham Played in an advanced spot down the right and also contributed with the hard yards. Demonstrated glimpses of brilliance and mishit a shot wide. Substituted in the closing stages by Rogers, his rival, following a yellow card. 7/10

The winger Was presented with England’s best chance of the first half, his effort excellently kept out from the Albanian keeper. With Quansah holding position, he was forced to offer an outlet out wide yet his deliveries from the touchline were inconsistent. Substituted late in the match. 6

Harry Kane The difference-maker netting two more finishes in an England shirt. The opener a classic opportunist's goal while the second an excellent header following a clever run from his marker. At 32, he continues to improve and the side have every chance in the upcoming tournament with him leading the line. 8/10

The attacker Found it tough to make an impact on the left flank. Was presented with a good opening following a pass by the midfielder yet the keeper kept it out. Rashford produced a bigger effect in his place. 5/10
