Ukrainian Forces Initiates Mass Production of New Defensive Unmanned Aerial Vehicles

Ukrainian authorities have declared the commencement of mass production for a new locally engineered defensive UAV to strengthen its aerial protection systems. Three initial manufacturers have started manufacturing, with 11 more getting ready to set up production lines, Ukrainian military officials stated this past Friday.

Advanced 'Octopus' System Proven in Combat Situations

These UAVs will be based on a domestically developed technology known as “Octopus” engineered to intercept Iranian-made drones. This technology underwent testing in combat and proved effective “during nighttime, under jamming and at low altitudes,” the ministry stated. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy established an ambitious goal of producing as many as 1,000 defensive drones daily.

Latest Assault on Kyiv Described as Calculated

Volodymyr Zelenskyy characterized Moscow's most recent assault against Ukraine as “deliberate, calculated and brutal” after six individuals were killed and dozens wounded in a wave of night-time strikes across Kyiv. Air raid sirens sounded in the capital just after 12 AM this past Friday, with enemy UAVs soon heard overhead and intensive defensive fire from Ukraine's aerial protection units.

Zelenskyy reported the nation was targeted by 430 drones and 18 missiles. The deceased were inside their residences in a block of flats on Kyiv’s left bank when it was hit. Dozens of other buildings sustained damage, among them the diplomatic mission of Azerbaijan.

Diplomatic Protest Following Embassy Damage

The Azerbaijani government said it delivered a formal objection to the Russian ambassador on Friday following the embassy damage. Moscow intends to manufacture up to 120,000 guided aerial bombs in the current year, a high-ranking Ukrainian defense official disclosed, among them 500 of an innovative, longer-range version that is capable of targeting more towns and cities. Moscow's military were firing hundreds of glide bombs per day, with last month’s average daily usage standing at about 170, based on defence ministry data.

Kyiv's Attacks Target Russian Energy Infrastructure

Russia’s maritime terminal of the port city halted for a period oil exports on Friday – representing two percent of worldwide oil production – after a strike by Ukrainian forces. Ukraine’s general staff stated its forces had launched Neptune cruise missiles and deployed multiple kinds of attack UAVs in the attack on Novorossiysk “as part of operations to diminish the strategic capabilities of the Russian aggressor.”

Ukraine separately targeted an oil refinery in the Saratov area and an energy depot in the adjacent Engels region during the night.

International Sanctions Impact Moscow's Oil Producer

The number two energy company Lukoil said on Friday it is negotiating with interested parties regarding its international holdings following last month’s restrictions from the UK and the US and the collapse of an agreement with the Gunvor trading house. “The specific deal will be announced once the final agreements are completed and the necessary regulatory approvals have been obtained,” Lukoil commented.

Ukrainian President Plans Visit to Spain

The Ukrainian leader will visit the city of Madrid, Madrid, next Tuesday to meet with lawmakers following his visit to Paris, the chamber of deputies announced. The Ukrainian president will convene with representatives from all houses of parliament during his visit, the Spanish statement said.
